I am working on playthrough video

fixed design bugs

Ravie 11/30/2022 12:58 PM

Looks like a cool map, but requiring angle bind isn't good

FightFire 11/30/2022 1:07 PM

This map is based on binding angles, if binding angles are not a good idea, then I can't improve the map

Ninjed 11/30/2022 1:38 PM

Moves looks amazing. But IMHO, maps like that aren't really interesting. I mean there's no gameplay or mechanic, its simply keeping the buttons

Ninjed 11/30/2022 1:40 PM

Tbh this "hold button map" looks more interesting than others in this case

FightFire 11/30/2022 1:49 PM

I personally think that moving in a cool way is part of the fun of playing a map

FightFire 11/30/2022 1:51 PM

Holding button all the way through the map also reduces the difficulty, everyone has a chance to try this cool moving.

Agreeing with all of the above-mentioned and additionally I don’t think it’s good that you basically have to learn the whole map by heart to be able to finish it

FightFire 12/14/2022 2:49 AM

My friends and I took the test and they all found it fun to figure out how to beat it. But according to the channel maybe the map can't be released after all.🥲

FightFire 12/14/2022 2:54 AM

I can make a tutorial video later if anyone wants. This way everyone can easily finish the map.

nothing_ 12/14/2022 2:58 AM

Map looks pretty cool but idk about the angle bind if this map didnt need that bind it would be better

FightFire 12/14/2022 3:10 AM

The idea behind the angle binding was that it would be a way for players to beat the map, which would greatly reduce the difficulty of the map and would be enjoyable to watch, so that anyone could learn to finish the map.

tae 12/18/2022 5:10 AM

Oh no, "Just deep fly" requires deepfly bind

Ninjed 12/18/2022 8:45 AM

Yes, but deepfly requires this bind to finish, not to reduce the difficult

lolkildal 12/18/2022 9:37 AM

wdym, deep fly dont requires for completing map, it's just reduce the difficult, u can finish map with default dummy fly. And here it's same, i understand problem if angle bind was uncommon, but rn almost everyone have them

Ninjed 12/18/2022 9:38 AM

How tf you can complete it with default dummy fly?

lolkildal 12/18/2022 9:42 AM

u just need to hit in right timing, i tried it, is real

Ninjed 12/18/2022 9:58 AM

Sounds like challenge for dummy fappers

Gazebr 12/19/2022 10:12 AM

Imo the map is super cool and I dont see a reason to decline it because of a bind since some maps require it/make it almost necessary anyway

Gazebr 12/19/2022 10:13 AM

Setup is the "mechanic" and learning it is the gameplay.

Gazebr 12/19/2022 10:14 AM

There is already a setup map and it was fun to play so I dont see a reason why this wouldnt be

Gazebr 12/19/2022 10:17 AM

Remember when deepfly bind was not only required but you also had to learn how to deepfly to complete a map, yet the map itself is awesome. Now the mapper asks for a simple bind that is easy to understand yet that is too much to handle

Gazebr 12/19/2022 10:18 AM

Ofc I havent played this map yet and it could play awful but what I saw in this convo is just "setup not fun, bind too much"

Gazebr 12/19/2022 10:20 AM

Deepfly without deepfly bind is easier than this without angle bind. In easier parts you can even hold the hammer on your dummy and go in the same direction with no problem

Gazebr 12/19/2022 10:27 AM

Without the angle bing this map would: -lose its theme of setups -become another map where you must have god aim to beat it

louis 12/19/2022 4:23 PM

recent update turns default dummy fly bind into 100% deepfly i think

louis 12/19/2022 4:26 PM

also angle bind is kinda jank to control mouse as well cuz of the max_distance crap

Gazebr 12/19/2022 5:32 PM

Tested the map without page up and imo spinning circles are a bit annoying and serve no purpose but since normally i would not play with textures i dont really mind keeping them. Also i like how you made the map barely sub 1 min - very satisfying =)

FightFire 12/19/2022 9:30 PM

If you want I can add a extra part for finishing map in a perfect minute

FightFire 12/19/2022 9:33 PM

I'll consider changing the transparency of the background element

FightFire 12/19/2022 9:43 PM

Then let me describe what the background elements mean. The first is the innermost circle. There is a red ball spinning on it. The red ball spins once per minute, which also represents the grenade. The blue ball spins once per hour. It represents the laser and is the second weapon to appear. Its path will be longer than that of the red ball, so the laser part will be longer than the grenade part. The green ball, which spins once per day, representing shotgun, also the last weapon to appear and has the longest part. Finally, our tee, located in the center of the ring, is surrounded by balls, representing tee is the hero who masters these weapons.

FightFire 12/20/2022 6:06 AM

%100 Solo map

Arrow 01/04/2023 3:27 PM

$decline testing leads and a few other testers dont agree on being a good thing to have this type of maps released (i mean that only depends on a bind, just pseudo and fly maps doesn't count btw), on the other hand, the gameplay is really awesome

Arrow 01/04/2023 3:28 PM

i know that you work hard for this we talk bout this in game. If u can find a way to bring the map again without the use of the bind would be awesome

Ryu 01/04/2023 5:32 PM

If he puts the bind as an info box somewhere at the beginning of the map, wouldnt it be fine?

Ryu 01/04/2023 5:32 PM

I dont get it

Arrow 01/04/2023 5:32 PM

already is on the map but seems not enough

Ryu 01/04/2023 5:35 PM

Thats disappointing then

FightFire 01/04/2023 5:49 PM

I'll try to remove the aim bind

Gazebr 01/04/2023 6:16 PM

Maybe make info right at the start and with text? If I remember correctly right now info is few jumps away from start

Gazebr 01/04/2023 6:17 PM

45 degree bind really isnt hard to use

Lagar85 01/04/2023 6:24 PM

In my opinion the main issue is the bind u need to play the map, the bind in the info says right now: bind x "+toggle cl_mouse_max_distance 2 400; +toggle inp_mousesens 1 200; +showhookcoll" This is wrong cuz it will change ur mouse distance and ur mousesens in case u dont use default one, and explain them how to write the bind correctly requires too much explanation if u are not used to binds. The map looks cool but bind is too confusing to explain, i would only release map when the degree bind is able to use in the settings of the client.

Gazebr 01/04/2023 7:20 PM

how about making a room where you show that bind, then show how to revert it (like in just deep fly but not in start/finish)

Lagar85 01/04/2023 7:43 PM

in just deep fly u only need to copy and paste the bind in f1, and same to revert, there is no space to fail, u only need c&p. This bind is different depending of ur mousesens and mouse distance values, u need to write cl_mouse_max_distance, check the value, write inp_mousesens, check the value, then write the cmd and write ur values in the place of 400 and 200. That's why i think maybe this is too hard to explain for a casual/new player.

Gazebr 01/04/2023 7:47 PM

1) just deep fly asks to bind it to a certain button but the player could have a different setup (for example different hit button) 2) if the player got enough brain to change mouse settings then im sure he can manage setting those back (write default settings in the room)

Gazebr 01/04/2023 7:49 PM

Also does mousesens even matter when you turn 45 degrees?

Steinchen 01/04/2023 7:50 PM

Yea. Some 45° overwrite my previous mousesens ._. Then I gotta adjust it again etc etc

Gazebr 01/04/2023 7:55 PM

Alright, maybe putting bind info after a few jumps as the map does is a good idea after all since noobs would quit before somehow messing up their controls 🥹

uwu 01/04/2023 8:12 PM

Then you binded it wrong wtf, it cant overwrite it since it has two static values, ur number and 1 and just switching between them

gerdoe 01/05/2023 1:38 PM

it doesn't need it, it just makes map easier, you know

gerdoe 01/05/2023 1:41 PM

i don't think that players are so stupid to not check/change their inp_mousesens

gerdoe 01/05/2023 1:41 PM

if map has such steps in instructions tho

nothing_ 01/05/2023 1:43 PM

mousesens they probably know but distance some ppl use default some use custom and plenty of ppl don't know how to bind

gerdoe 01/05/2023 1:44 PM

map can explain it? was it reason back then to decline map

gerdoe 01/05/2023 1:44 PM

newbies can just skip map and race another one instead

nothing_ 01/05/2023 1:45 PM

Arrow wrote the reason above

gerdoe 01/05/2023 1:46 PM

if it was starkiller rank map which required angle bind i swear no one would catch an eye

uwu 01/05/2023 2:25 PM

Why cant we have deep fly and angle bind maps, its good introduction of advanced techniques to newbies, since deep fly bind is described on official wiki as well as angle bind >>> https://wiki.ddnet.org/wiki/Binds#45%C2%B0_Aiming it can be fairly be treated as accepted by whole community and developers feature, you made tutorial map to teach newbies, so why don't you teach same newbies a little more advanced technique (including that only novice players dont have this bind)

Gazebr 01/05/2023 2:25 PM

if the player doesnt understand what mouse distance is then just write revert bind with default distance in info, if they dont know what it does they wont mess with it anyway so default one works

Patiga 01/05/2023 2:32 PM

I don't have that bind

gerdoe 01/05/2023 2:32 PM

then don't play this map

gerdoe 01/05/2023 2:33 PM

will never be a problem

gerdoe 01/05/2023 2:33 PM

the real problem of any newbie player is a lack of skills

gerdoe 01/05/2023 2:33 PM

not the binds xd

uwu 01/05/2023 4:16 PM

Consider identifying yourself as novice player

Ninjed 01/05/2023 4:29 PM

Worst reason to decline There are many other players which opinion should be counted. DDNet not only for testers.

FJP 01/05/2023 5:01 PM

Arrow 01/06/2023 4:08 PM

45 angle is not quite accurate, specially when you have to do it fast, so is totally different from fly binds, besides I made the distinction from this two already

Gazebr 01/06/2023 4:54 PM

what do you mean by "not accurate"? if you mean that it could go in the wrong direction if you turn slightly then try completing a map that requires aim with low max distance 💩 ofc you have to move your mouse in the same direction quite a bit to make it accurate

Gazebr 01/06/2023 4:56 PM

also deep fly is quite jank as well if you dont know how to control it so i dont see a difference
